Iβm Leanne and I started this support group after losing my partner and father to three beautiful children. Being a parent to a grieving child/children due to parent loss can leave you feeling lost and un supported in parenthood.
For me, I felt that my son at only 4 years old wasnβt ready for the world of counselling. One day he simply asked if he could meet other children who had lost their mummy/daddy too, and so we started the group “Little steps Major Movements”.
We named it after my late partner who sadly passed away on 28th April 2019 – Lee Winfield, ‘Major’ being his original birth name.
Back in 2019 we had our very first local meet with children from across the local area, and 6 weeks later we had another meet. At this point our group had gained 18 young members along with their parent/guardian.
We truly feel that the members get a real sense of connection to these other children, and the group can make such a lasting difference in their formative years.
By supporting them with friends having shared the same experiences, we believe the foundations are already setup for any potential support requirements in their futures. π¬ππ«
This group is strictly for children who have lost a parent and between the ages of 4-11 years. There are already many beneficial groups out there for children over the age of 11, when they are more understanding and less likely to need “play” therapy.
It is now our mission to get this charity group back up and running, since the restrictions are being lifted.

We are only able to support the local areas currently, however we aim to branch out further afield once we have found our feet again.

We are planning the future of the group and assessing demand, ultimately helping us to deliver more group sessions across the area.
